Simple [?]:
Will a 15x7 ET35 (15"x7" w/ 35mm offset) fit on a W123-chassis vehicle?
If not, what size/type spacers will be needed? Thanks.

i have 16x7 ET37 rims (off a c class) on it and they work. HOWEVER - the fronts needed spacers to clear the tie rods. without them you will damage the tie rods and wheels i guess. i have approx. 6mm spacers.
i also put 6mm spacers on the back but the rear track still looks too narrow. i wish i could get hold of 15 - 20mm spacers for a good price. this will give a better track similar to factory, since they should be about 15mm offset (i think??)

oh ok.. so that means i should have 12mm spacers on mine. not too bad i guess.

so you think i will need longer bolts with 12mm spacers.. i think so :(

W123 can use ET30 with no spacers. In fact, Bundt-style wheels were factory original with ET30. Will the extra 5mm offset (for the ET35 15x7 rims) require spacers then? If so - front, rear, or all? How big spacers you recommmend? How long bolts?? HELP!! [V]

If it helps, I think there were two versions of 14 inch Bundt style wheels. 14x6 and 14x6.5 inches. The narrower one was for diesels to increase top end speed.

KARUGS Pre! You're correct of course, but remember there were other wheels available for W123's as options... 5.5x15 w/ covers (for heavy-duty suspension equipped cars) and also the infamous ultra-desirable 7x15 Bundts/Baroque style. Fuchs were OEM-suppliers for the 15's as they were forged alloys, while other suppliers followed suit afterwards... Anyways, the factory-issue offsets ranged from 25mm-30mm.

So my question again... will a 15x7 rim w/ 35mm offset fit without spacers? If spacers required, then please suggest what else is needed... DANKE SIE! [;)]

Alfie!! Kayo pala di ko napansin. Sorry wala ako alam dyan masyado! I haven't looked much into it yet kasi.

Made a search and here is what Onkel said:

"How wide is the rims?
I got 7x16" with et35 and 205/55-16 all four wheels.
I don´t use any spacers at all. and my car is lowered to.
Works 100% fine for me."

So I guess it works, but I hear you want 15 inchers instead of 16's. If you want more info this might lead you somewhere:

Hope that helps!!

sorry but this does not make sense.

i hae ET37 with 205/55/16 and even with 3mm spacers the front ones will hit the tie rods. with two 3mm spacers (ie 6mm) they will clear the tie rods by about 2mm.

which is why it makes sense to say that ET30 was available off factory.

My friend has 16x8" ET10 wheels with 205/?? front and 245/?? rear tires. Looks just great. I have 15x7 ET20 with 195/65 and 205/60 tires. Front tires look good, rears will need 20mm spacers to look good.

I'd say forget those ET35 wheels.

Banflu,

I don't know, it was Onkel's "testimonial". His car by the way is a 200 series, could there be any difference there?

Thebenzbar,

Have you found out about fitting it else where? It seems the search only gave out a few threads.

Yeah the search was semi-helpful... most had 16's w/ ET35. I may end up needing spacers in the front to clear tie-rods, but the rear may not need... we'll see. Johan also had 7x15's on his 230TE and said the same. I bought a nice set of 7x15 Ronals et35 in Germany for a bargain, and seller claimed it fits on a W123 w/o spacers. He said he verified with wheels shop in Germany and they agreed that it will fit w/o spacers. I'm still skeptical however. I'll let you guys know when I receive/install them - looks like trial & error for me! If they don't fit w/o spacers, then I'm pretty sure they will fit W124 and W201 cars. [V]

that makes sense thebenzbar.

onkel.. mine is a 200 as well [:)]
i am not saying anything against Onkel of course ;) but all i can say is that mine are 16x7 ET37, and with 3mm spacers they still hit the tie rods constantly. then with 6mm they cleared them by about 2mm. so IMO the wheels should be AT LEAST ET33 (which doesnt exist AFAIK) to clear them. ET30 or a bit less will be perfect. IMO as always

Karugs: ALL of the w123 chassies has the same "wheeluphanging" (sorry for english [:p])

thebenzbar: A 15x7 ET35 Will not fit on the front of your car whitout spacers.
If the rim was 6,5" wide maybe it would work. But now the rim gonna scratch against the steering"thing".

My summerwheels (as karugs already been told you) is 7x16" with ET35. The IMPORTANT difference between your rims is that mine are in 16". If they have been 15" it never would have worked whitout spacers. a 16" rim goes outside the steering"things".

I think that a 5mm (or a 10mm FOR SURE) spacer will fix all the problems for you!

As for the rear it will work FINE whitout spacers if you want it so.

On monday, i gonna order a set of 20mm "real" spacers for the rear of my car. spacers that i bolt on, on then screw the rim into the spacer.
So after that i gonna have ET15 at the rearwheels.
Just for the looking! [:D]

Here´s some pic´s that PROOF that it work with 7x16 ET35 with NO spacers! [:D]
(Still 15" will not work whitout spacers)

I think it looks good at the front!
But for the rear that i already said i gonna buy 20mm spacers just for the lloking of the car!

i really dont get it.

maybe my rims have ET37 marked on them, and it is a mistake. they really still hit the tie rods when we fittex the 3mm spacers to them.. we needed 6mm to clear by 2mm.
