I am in the process of replacing my front wheel bearings, and I can not figure out how to get the ring/race out of the inner or outer portion of the hub. I have tried to pry it, and I have tried to force it out with a hammer and flathead. Nothing seems to make it budge. Any advice?

Also if I do get it out, will it need to be pressed back on by a shop, or can I do this?

BTW, vehicle is a 1989 300e.

Problem solved. Used a thin tipped chisel, and after a few whacks with a hand sledge, they popped right out. I think they needed to cool down more. I started this after I had been driving, and the hub was still pretty warm, which may have caused the metal to expand slightly.
