to be honest we need more info on the car to give you a accurate value. Does it run, drive and stop? What works what doesn't etc.....

if it's a non running car for parts only I wouldn't give over 400 for it.

1980 240D, 169k, automatic, manual windows, A/C air compressor works but needs charged I believe, great interior(side bolsters are broken), does have some rust spots showing, new belts, rad hose, tranny shift module, glow plugs(needs relay), I have not run this car since July but should fire up no problem, a little TLC and it would make a great economical diesel cruiser.

From the description (not running, no a/c, etc.), it's a parts car. You *might* be able to drive it regularly if you put in a ton of work, but right now it's a parts car. In my opinion, $500 would be absolutely the most you'd want to pay, and $350 would be a pretty good deal.

I would say tops $400 but more likely I would offer 200-250 range.

You would only want to buy it as a parts car. Something that rusty ain't worth pouring a cent into.
If the motor runs well and has decent compression, and the interior is imminently usable for you, I might go up to $500 if I were you.
I wouldn't go much above $300, but I'm notoriously cheap. Rust is an ender for me.......
There is value in having an extra working engine. The auto tranny you will have to pay to have somebody take. AC NEVER just needs a charge. ;)

It's been in at least one fender bender, the left front fender has been replaced and poorly, look at the hood/fender alignment over the driver's side headlight.
But as a parts car, it's worth at least as much as the most expensive part you'll use from it if you bought that part at a junk yard - that way you pay junkyard-retail for one part and get all the others free.
