See if Mclare wants it first. I have airbags in mine so no good. But maybe for someone else interested.

Yeah I talked to Mclare on the phone. He's a good guy, gave me some advice on buying for parts.

Just spent the whole day going to different salvage yards here in Vegas - did good by scoring some cruise amps ($10ea) and some other parts but couldn't find a decent MB steering wheel. Nothing special there..... but there were several decent looking BMW wheels. They were four-spoke, like an AMG, noticeably smaller than the MB bus sized wheel, and contain a small air bag that looks to have a connector about the same size as an MB airbag.

Which brings me to an interesting question - anybody ever tried a BMW steering wheel in a W126? Will it fit??

justinwrock, thats the same wheel as in my 6.9, it's an early one. The 6.9 AMG in the German Classic Center has that wheel and I remember seeing photos a few years back of one other 6.9 AMG in FLA with it too, FYI. I'm sure it was also in 123's and 126's.

I was sure that is a gen II wheel. My gen I has a gen I AMG wheel already.

mclare will likely pay way more than $125, you should ask at least $300. He is a helpful guy. He was calling me almost right after I finally received my car offering advice. I scored a BIG FAT service manual thanks to him. He's a little bit of a sexual deviant, but nowadays that's pretty common.

Wow! Thanks for all of the good comments... YES Justin! I would love it... I'll call you tomorrow, unless you are up tonight. I was out all day helping my Mother install some Drapes she made for her customer. I had to construct some wood Valances for her. Project came out GREAT!...

Thanks again for all of the great comments....

Hunter - I have Air Bags too. If you want to go with an AMG wheel ever, I can show you how to take your Bags out and replace it with a Glove box. I am still working out the details. I have most of the parts I think. I got them out of the JY. Go there and you should be able to find the parts you need. Take your toolbag and it should be easy to get the door off then the inner sleeve. Don't forget the inner light and switch. If you are lucky, you will find a door in the right color and wood type. I will post pics when I do the conversion.

Thanks again everyone for the support! I really appreciate it.
