Back when AMG and MB were different companies you could have as little or as much AMGness on a car as you wanted on any car right from the 280-560.

I passed on that car a while ago. It hasn't been treated well for a long time. I do believe it is authentic, though.

The engine and transmission are not in good condition and are not worth restoring. The bodykit is valuable, but appears to have been painted over more than once and will need careful refinishing. The car is generally in poor shape.

If you want the bumpers and other AMG parts, buy the car, as they are decent and can be restored by hand if you have the time. The issue is that the car will need to be transported, so add a grand to the price. I bet you can piece together what you need for less. I ended up passing on it, even though I wanted it just for the AMG parts an dEuro parts, necause the added cost of trasport made it seem unattractive to me. I would just make a list of what you want and start trolling junkyards and the like. If anyone near this car wants to chop it for AMG upgrades, it is worth looking at in person to see if you want the parts as they are. The older it gets, the more likely it will be that someone will need these parts in their current shape. I say, if you have the money to burn, buy it and put it away for twenty years and see how well your investment performed.

That looks like an authentic AMG body kit (without a spoiler).

It's California sun license plates appear to have issued in 1985 with that alphanumeric sequence which suggests it was a gray market car first licensed and plated in California and would therefore be a no-rust car that had never left the state after it was brought there

Will need lots of work but it is too nice to part out. It's definately worth considering as a good daily driver for a low purchase price.

looks like the speedo has been replaced too.

380's redline at 5500 rpm.

it's got the saggy rear suspension problem too. shame though, that amg kit would look damn amazing on my 380.
