Hi...playing with a 83 380sec. A buddy has a 88 300sel that is available for parts if I want it. Can anyone think of parts from the 300 that would improve the 380? I thought someone said the differential from the 300 was a good upgrade.

Be careful one car is gen2 and one is gen1 a lot of things don’t swap

I don’t think the diff fits a gen 1, but that is OK. The short gearing of a 300SE is not what the m116 V8 wants. I think it’s a 3.46, in place of the stock 2.24 or 2.47? You want it to rev 1500 rpm higher at 80 mph, all I can say is if you think the 380 is thirsty now...
