I took these pictures, sent them to the "local" mercedes dealership and they told me he thinks he found the part I need but it is $125... That can't be right... So, any idea what it is I need, or where I can get one? I get a really loud wind noise in the car so I would like to fix this. Thanks!

Very helpful site for part number, do you think it is #60 or #15 in there? Also, I don't have any clue as to what language it is, so can I take it I can't order from there either?

Hi Catterman since your car is a 129.063 (129.064 is the 3.2L V6) and it's been built in 1996 you should have a look at this LINK and refer to the second picture. I had a look at the chart in that page and it looks like the black rubber molding is part of the #167 part and not given as a separate part because I looked and looked and it doesn't seem the black strip has its own p/n.

Cheers.

#60 is a clip and #15 looks like a rubber piece ? Compare them with your other door to see which piece is missing.

That site is in Russia, so can't order from them (shipping will kill you). We just use it for part number references.

If you have any language questions, just ask LynnS (our Moderator). he can greet most our members in their native languages;). How good was it I don't know, but it sure impress the hell out of everybody.

Thanks for the help! That is such a strange site, must see a lot of R129's in Russia for them to have all the exploded views!

Anyway, where is a good online store that I can order a part using the part number? Do any junkyards have this ability? Up here in northeran Minnesota I have about the only Mercedes within an hour drive...

Go to the Stealer. Even they can't charge that much for a clip and piece of rubber.

Mick did a great job but I think it's #164 that is needed. So I went to Parts.com to check the pricing on p/n 1297251766 'Left Door Interior Trim plate Seal' and I found it at $18.50.

So I would suggest that you print the web page with the second picture and the p/n's below from the Russian Site and point to the part that you need at your local Dealer Parts Counter for a starting point if my number is not correct. I don't believe this part is worth an online purchase. Manny times I use the above sites for a starting point of referance only.

A trim piece like that should not cost $125 even at Dealers (on the other hand it is a Mercedes so should not be surprised). Did you physically show them what was missing or did you just ask by P/N ? (in case you gave the wrong P/N)
The best way is to get the 'correct' P/N from the Dealer, then shop around online, but keep in mind of the shipping cost too. So if the difference is not much, get it from the Dealer.

True but as all of us know from looking at the Russian EPC site it's so easy to get confused among all those parts lol.

Cheers.

I looked at it again last night and I think you are right on, I am ordering that part and will give it a shot, less then $20 so it isn't a big deal if it turns out to be wrong. I will keep you posted! THanks again to everyone for all the help!!!

Just an update, the seal came in and sure enough I needed that part (#164 on the link) however I also found out I am missing not one seal, but TWO. So I think the other one is #161. I just placed the order, cost me $1 for the part and $12 to ship it. Only money and I can't take it with me I guess!

Well the second part I ordered came in and is only a foam insulation part. So after some more searching I wonder if I need parts 129-725-0166 (#4, for $70!!!) or 129-811-0198 (#44, for $1.00)

Seem like your are spending lots of time and money on postage for the wrong part by the P/N.

You have a good door and the other door has the missing part.
I suggest you send a picture of the missing part from the 'good' door when you place your order and tell them you want the mirror image of that part for your other door. Let them figure out the correct P/N.
