I have an 04 E55 and I bought it used with 245/40/18 in the front and 265/35/18 in the back... The tires on the car currently are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position. I need to get new tires now and I was wondering what everyone runs on their cars. Any tires to stay away from? Anyone have bigger patch tires? What works, what doesn't? Thanks in advance.

If you want the best for track use the Michelin PS2 is everyone's favorite. If you are looking to save money, then the Nexen 3000 series is adequate. In the middle, Toyo TR1s are very popular.

On a stock rim, you can go a bid wider in the rears (275).

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A is what I have. Just make sure your camber is good, mine wasnt, I learned the hardway. 2 brand new tires 2 weeks before i turn the lease back!

I recently swapped from Michelins to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymettrico due to being about £250 cheaper per set of 4, the good news is that the steering feedback is much better and it tracks much better oer cambers etc.

Grip is not affected.

I bought my car recently with 225/40/18 on the rear and 235/45/18 on the front. My tyre man had a look and said the best mid-range tyre is the Nexen 3000 and that the best tyre size to suit my rims was the 235/40/18, which I have now fitted - no problems so far.
