I am looking to secure a few items under the seat, and would like to put a few screws though the floor, but obviously do not want to puncture anything of value. Anyone know what is under there- or how deep I should be going?
Thanks!

Sounds curious. What are you adding? Do you have the safe under your passenger seat? Can you secure whatever it is to the bottom of the seat instead?

just some thoughts

I do not have the drawer/safe under the pass. seat. I would like to mount my car computer under there, which attaches to a mount that I built to absorb/dampen vibration. There is really no way to mount it to the bottom of the seat. The computer has to be able to be removed- and moved to my other vehicles, so this mount is designed to secure it while it is in the ML, but allows for the computer to be removed- its nothing fancy at all. I just need a way to mount it into the floor

Don't know about the ML but I have a 2007 R-Class and thats where the battery is. Wouldn't want to drill through that.
