I found this plug in the engine room today. Anybody know what it is? It's right behind the left headlight.....

The car is a 1998 C200 W202

yeah i see its right by the a/c lines, but its not a good pic on the plug can you take a pic of the pins meaning staring into the socket. I just did my wiring harness and it looks to be intake manifold related

It looks like it might be the refrigerant temperature sensor. A210 540 7481. The socket itself has a part number on it as it too can be replaced individually. If the number(its tiny) matches the one i have then that is it. If it doesn't then post the number and i'll cross reference it for you

i have a 1997 c250 and that plug is in the same place as mine, i asked mechanics in the past and they said it was a spare plug {bull} i think its to do with the outside temp sensor which is missing on my car. is yours still working?

it's just a unused plug in mine, i'd say it's normal
i still have no idea what's it's for though, it's definitely not a outside temp sensor plug as i have one.
i don't think it'll be abs aswell
but i'll go with the spare plug bit that was mentioned before
