This might be a dumb? But what are the benifits with using that tool
Its useful in several ways. It is useful in retracting the piston so that you can put fat new pads in the place of the old worn thin ones. Its also a constant clamp force for when you want to bleed the caliper rather than force the oil backwards through the one way valves.

Most people push in the piston without bleeding. New pads require the piston to go deeply into the caliper.

It can take no more than 30min to change a full set of front pads and this tool is pretty cheap for what it does.
