I've been looking around on this forum and also the web for details on the construction of the r230. Specifically, what is the hood, trunk lid fenders, quarter panels and doors constructed of? Ive reviewed the sales literature for some explanation, but no love.
I can tell that the only exterior body part that holds a magnet are the rear quarter panels. The hood appears to be fiberglass or something. Is there a good drawing out there/ Any insight from the members here?
Thanks

MOst of the parts you are asking about are aluminum, Hood, Doors, Trunk lid...... the bonnet, front wings, doors, boot lid, fuel tank partition and other components are made from aluminium, the most prominent lightweight component being the bonnet

wow, nice. I saw that drawing, but it didnt show the doors and fenders, etc. I read a great deal about this chassis before I jumped in, but getting more impressed at every turn.

Thanks

The rear fenders are steel and I believe those are the only body panels that are.
