Hi,

I am having some electrical problem with my SL, the fuse 12!!! I looked into several blogs and I am slowly working into finding the source of the problem. But as I was looking, there is something next to the antenna, in the top left of the truck, close the the roof section, a plastic cylinder with a connection. Mine was disconnect... but I have no idea what is this thing used for... what does it do. Should I plug it back... my dad had the car for over 20 years, so it never been connected... I guess it's not something that I will miss(!). Still, as a curiosity, I would like to know what is this thing for.

Thanks

You will probably have much better luck with getting an answer if you post the question in the W107 forum.

Is it an electrical connection? I've heard that 1986 and maybe 1987 models had a sensor in the factory car alarm system to sense if the front or rear was raised. The alarm would go off when this happened, which is bad if the car is being towed for repairs or by your friendly law enforcement agency. It was eliminated in 1988 and 1989 models. Maybe that is the sensor, as I believe it was mounted in the trunk.
