Speaking of parking at Walmart, or any shopping center for that matter: Do you ever park way the F out in the lot - where no other cars are to avoid door dings? Then come back later and there's some POS car parked a foot away from yours.
Oh, yeah.

Replaced the weather dried and cracked hardtop window seals. URO brand. Much easier than the A-pillar seals but still quite the hassle. Used silicone dielectric grease as lubricant and that helped a lot. Fitment seemed just ok... Now that I know the drill to install, I'll likely get genuine Mercedes when/if I do this again.
Put the hardtop on for the winter drives.

Got the tires mounted on the 17-inch monoblocks and on the 560. I will say..it looks good, really good.

A teaser pic until tomorrow or Friday...

Wheels are 17 X 8 et11 on all 4 corners

Front tires are 225/45/17 and rears are 245/40/17 and fit without fender rolling but it's close.

Side note: the jeep fits 4 17s perfectly

Yes few times, and not only close, but hit. The whole scene was a fraud set-up.
I parked my '75 Riviera away from other cars. I got paged by the store to go to the service desk. A sobbing trash bag looking woman apologized saying " my brother" has a body shop and will fix it free. Oh, by the way, don't report this, I don't have insurance, but really he will fix it free.

I thought yeah right, I'll wind up with it in worse condition and a lean against my car.

I knew it was a scam when she called me complaining about why she had to deal with Jake from State Farm.

Fortunately it wasn't the '60 Vette.

Not ALL today but off and on over the past several weekends and an hour or two here and there where I could.

Replaced antenna grommet that crumbled last time I hit it with the power washer. While I was there, removed, cleaned and lubricated Hirschmann antenna unit. Gears and internals all in really good shape, just a little dry. Cleaned up the antenna itself with some 0000 steel wool and lubricated as well.

Replaced all rear lights to LEDs. This started with a failed safety inspection where my license plate lights weren’t working. Solved my problem of where I had a bulb out from dashboard warning light.

Replaced both A-pillar seals. Not sealing well and weather cracked. What a PITA! Shout out to anyone that does this for a living. I’d much rather rebuild my entire fuel system again, UGH! I hope the seals on the hard top are easier… next project before hard top goes back on for the winter.

Replaced badly yellowed wiper fluid reservoir and replaced gaskets, seals and the pump. Replaced all washer fluid lines and cleaned and re-aimed ‘squirters’. Not that I’ll drive the ‘Ole Girl ‘in the rain on purpose…
Got her loo
Got her lookin' good!
Looks great! How much camber is in those wheels?

1987 560SL. Triple blue. 66k miles. At the end of the beginning of reconditioning it. Pulled instrument cluster and repaired odo/freshened gauges. Oil service. Trans service. New plugs and wires. New shocks. New steering box coupling to eliminate play in steering wheel. New battery. Air filter. Fuel filter. Coolant flush. Removed sun visors (The correct way by removing A pillar covers). New seat cushions and seat covers start this week. I’ll paint seat rails and lay down dyno mat at same time.

How did you have it transported?
Ended up using the people I used to ship my car down to Buffalo. Had it towed to a shop in Utah, all it needed was an oil change and battery and is a running and driving car, so it made things a whole lot easier. Got here in 3 days, did open transport because if I did. Enclosed, I would have paid 3x the amount to transport then I paid for the entire car.

I haven't been doing much with the 350 lately...it's been cold, robot season has started, and I've been lazy. But I need to do some maintenance on wife's Miata before she takes it solo racing this weekend, so I needed to make some room in the "work" side of the shop. The 350's hardtop was taking up most of the extra space, so it was time to make a stand for it. I found one DIY story about the subject, which mainly used a HF dolly, so I bought one, and cut up some scrap lumber to finish it. It's rather minimalist, which is how I tend to do things.

Working on a bunch of upgrades and repairs to my 1983 500SL. Replaced the power antenna with a refurbished unit and added a manual antenna switch since I predominately use Bluetooth via the Becker Sound 1480. Pulled the brake MC and booster to clean and refinish them. Next phase is pulling the brake pedal bracket to install the clutch/brake pedal assembly for my 6 speed swap. Have acquired a hand brake assembly from the UK to replace the foot parking brake as well. Lots of work over the next couple of months.

My brakes required a lot of leg pressure which led me to todays project. I pulled all 4 wheels and checked the condition of the brake parts. The '84 280SL I just bought has been in storage for an unknown length of time, but my guess would be 10+ years, so brakes working at all was surprising. All four corners showed fairly new parts including newish rotors and calipers.
The booster was next on my list of suspects, so pulled the master cylinder and sure enough found about 1/4 cup of brake fluid in the booster. With some acrobatics, I got the booster out, cleaned and removed the rear seal. A new seal and master cylinder are on order now and the booster wears new paint. Another lovely day solving problems.
