What did I do to my 107 today?

I piled up some acquired empty cardboard boxes on the hood...for lack of any other place.... and then rubbed the rear quarter with a garbage can.

Still more to do on my list.

Hard to do anything in my garage. I am paralyzed with stuff.

I moved Nobster #3 back from University and since I had a rented trailer I took the opportunity to pick up my tools at Formerly Known As Job #2.

Garage is stuffed.

And washed The PIG in the rain.

Last time it was washed?

Last October before the trip IN THE RAIN to North Carolina and Roncallo's.

Drove 14 hours home in the rain, as well.

And parked it for the winter.
Shame on me.

Compression test will find a blown head gasket
And while that is in progress....you can inspect the spark plugs. WHITE is bad.

I screwed up the gray dash cap doing the temp sensor hole and honestly the gray was too light and causing windshield glare. Decided to get a black one and do it right. Got the trim a little better the second time around. Just need to get the stereo and AC re-installed and wait for spring. Oh - and figure out what a modulator is!

I used a heat gun and then had to buff. Unfortunately.....you can still see where they were....just a wee bit.... because of sun fading of the paint.

and also change the steering damper. Any instructions in this forum for the damper?
Easiest job ever. The hardest part is getting under the car. After that..... a couple of 17mm spanners.

Why did you alter the SLC bushings?t? Why not just get the correct ones? How do the subframe bushings alter the height of the SL?
SL rear subframe bushings were made for the SL only....thus they are priced accordingly. Think EXPENSIVE.

So enthusiastic owners are looking for cheaper alternatives. The SLC bushing is much cheaper.

Southern Arizona. The flip side is when you are enjoying your car in the late spring, summer and early fall it is too hot here for top down or even to work on it much. Andy
Boo fucking hoo.

Pretty sure I'm up to about 40" so far since Christmas.

I've tried to remove the hood latch so I could do a thorough job of cleaning and refurbishing but I have never been able to get those huge Philips head screws to budge. I even bought one of those screwdriver hammer things where you smash the handle with a hammer and it turns the screw. No joy. I'll probably end up drilling them out.
You need a rattle gun with a phillips bit.
