Question for NYYYCE & EEEEZY - what is Leatherique? It seems from your post that it brings out ground in dirt in upholstery. The seating surfaces on my 107 are OK as I keep them clean regularly but the back seat of my G35 has succumbed to the depredations of a companion dog and really needs extreme treatment to restore the appearance. Soap and water only does half a job so perhaps this Leatherique would provide the necessary miracle.

Thanks for the info Cavallino Red. I have contacted the Canadian dealer and am waiting to hear back. Of course, Mr. Murphy has to have his say and our dealer is located at almost the other end of the country in Niagara on the Lake, a mere 2,800 miles away.

Suffered a severe loss of power which seemed to happen quite quickly. The engine just wouldn't rev and going up any steeper hill was quite a trial. It seemed as if the gas pedal wouldn't go through the floor which is what was needed and kicking down, while it eventually happened, didn't seem to improve things much. On the flat she ran OK but with no oomph. Although I'm no longer much of a DYI type I hoisted open the hood and more in desperation than knowledge squirted some. WD 40 on the throttle linkages - Magic! Acceleration restored immediately. I was rather pleased with myself.Could wish all my problems could be solved as easily!

I have had that happen on my 85 300D. I was on a trip to Toronto once when that happened. I took it to an Indy there that I knew. He oiled all the ball joints in the linkage with ATF and away I went. Ever since then, I have done the same. WD40 might not last too long, but you will know what to do next time :)
Good thinking re the longevity of WD 40. I just added a drop or two of 3 in 1 oil to each link. Hope that will last but if not, as you say, I know what to do.

In early December on a dry day I left the Golden Girl with my indie to have a few things taken care of. I told them to work at their convenience and they surely took me at my word because I got her back just yesterday on another dry day Well, she would have been parked in my garage instead of theirs anyway as the weather has not been supportive. An aftermarket antenna was fitted, not quite as neat as OEM but acceptable. New control arm bushings replaced the originals ($$$ ouch!) and she underwent her annual oil and filter change. A while ago I had adjusted the throttle linkage but they discovered that there was also a jam at the firewall insulation which I had missed. Wow! What a difference that made. She now once again goes like a scalded cat - who needs a V8?

Thanks!

I hadn't driven the SL in several weeks out of guilt and superstition over the oil change being overdue. It was nice driving it around with fresh oil. These cars use prodigious amounts of oil.
Prodigious amounts of oil??? I drive the Golden Girl approximately 1,500 miles per season and change oil every year before garaging her for the winter. After 1,500 miles my dipstick registers maybe 1/16th" down. Prodigious?

What have I done to my 107 today? Yesterday and today I left her in the garage. Never thought living on Vancouver Island that I'd ever find the temperature too hot for top down motoring but yesterday hit 35 C (about 95 F) and today and tomorrow are expected to be even hotter, perhaps even hitting the dreaded 3 digit mark for the first time in recorded history. A great time to stay inside where the a/c actually works!.

Having a problem with the left turn signal working on an intermittent basis seemed like an opportunity to get rid of the add on drop down turn signal lights at the same time as fixing the problem. Don't really know why I haven't already done this as they're pretty fugly. Dirty contacts was the problem and quickly solved by a knowledgeable techie, however it took a long and frustrating time to remove the drop downs. He managed at long last without having to remove the bumper. Watching his gymnastic efforts persuaded me I had made the right decision in not trying to do it myself. My hero!

I don't like the dinky horn sound on our R107s.
Been thinking about harvesting the horns off something like a Cadillac.

Back in the 1970's I had a Camaro that I installed an Air Horn on that made it sound like a big Semi.
Not that on my R107s, something a little more "refined" :)
The wind tone horns on most cars these days are mellow sounding, but the "dinky" sound of the 107's twin beepers are more penetrating. Don't use the horn enough to be bothered.

Yesterday was a nice sunny day, fairly cool and just right for summerising the Golden Girl. Once out of the garage I washed, and then waxed her, did all the chrome and then the black rubber bits and dropped the top so I could get at the other areas that needed cleaning and shining. Cleaned the glass , took a look at the inside and decided 3 hurs at it was enough. Drove her back into the garage and grabbed a cold one before I collapsed. Vacuuming and interior cleaning - maybe tomorrow.

Yes, she's a parti poodle (parti coloured). Our last dog was half poodle and half Wheaten Terrier - wonderful fellow - who just loved top down motoring. This one isn't quite sure about it yet. She enjoys slow stuff around town but doesn't seem too keen on highway speeds. I have a memory of my brother's girlfriend many years ago who had a very large St. Bernard and drove a mini. I leave it to imagination to wonder just how much room there was in the back seat!.

Today I bit the bullet, acknowledged that the weather was no longer in my favour, and put the top up. Perhaps old age has weakened me to the point where what used to be a minor hassle is now a feat of strength for which I can be proud. I am now aware of the fact that if I ever get caught in the rain, I will get extremely wet while struggling to put the damned top up..
