Hi so this is has been bugging me

my windows dont work, central locking dont work(neither with remote or central button), seats work only when doors are opened. So basically cant use any of the buttons on the central console only rear window shade thing, and headlight washer. Also interior lights don't turn on automatically when opening doors and sunroof doesn't work.

got a used psi pump but when i installed it and my central locking button light was on 24/7 and my truck release button wasnt lighting up when trunk was open. So i installed my old psi pump and central locking light went out and when my trunk is open the button light is on(cant use it tho)

so after alot of looking and talking to few independent mechanics they told me that it could be K1 module in the picture. so i got one from 1996 mercedes e320 however it did not fix the issue. This is probably because the the donor car was made in 1995 while mine was made may of 1996. And i read on some threads long time ago something to do with specific nature of this module and that you cant use the older ones (if someone can reference that thread that would be great:bowdown:)

So my question is: Does this module(in picture) control windows and alarm? And which modules number are compatible 96wXX --->and up?

thanks you

ps module in picture is not mine just found one online

Look Here and check some voltages. The combination control module is common but I wouldn't replace it till I checked some readings with a DMM.

Check/print the 3 circuits affected, windows, trunk and locks.

Edit. I've looked at the schematics and the combination control module actuates a lot of these circuits by providing a ground. If it's ground is faulty, this could be the cause. It's ground and a lot of the grounds on the affected systems you have is located in the right footwell (any work been done in that area recently?). Get a good light and locate/inspect this. And assuming you have 12 volts on the affected system fuses. Keep us posted.

so i got the sunroof to work

i wiggled the bottom of the connector to the combinations control module and at first the sunroof only would open lol and would not close, in the head i was thinking :"well thats great an open sunroof in canadian fall bahah" so then i went in again wiggled the bottom of the connector and BAM sunroof works opens closes and tilts the whole WORKS haha.

but yea still unfortunately windows dont work and the central locking system.

i read on forms something about the interior BUS system (connections that allow combination control module to communicate with the psi pump and also fewer others)

so where is it that BAS located? or should i just measure the voltage at psi pump connector? and which connector is positive on psi pump?

I just went through the same issue, after hooking and unhooking the harness, I realize that the base of the wire harness is supposed to be mounted at base of the box housing to provide the tight fit at the bottom of the connection. The harness should only tilt away from the module. I was able to place my hand at the bottom and apply enough pressure to make the connection tight, everything is working but I will fill better when I am able to replace the plastic harness.
