This is what AMG really stands for...

AMG = Aufrecht Melcher Grobaspach

History: In AMG's first year of existence a customer from Kiel got lost after asking directions to the Old Mill in Burgstall near Großaspach, Germany. "Where is AMG?" What he didn't know was that he was pretty much standing in the middle of it, namely in one of two garages. The pit used to inspect and work on the cars from underneath had been dug by hand. The Mercedes with the Kiel license plates could barely pass through the garage door. That was in 1968.

This is just a bit of history I picked up online...

THE 1ST TWO LETTERS ARE THE INITIALS OF THE 2 GUYS WHO STARTED AMG AND THE LAST LETTER "G"...

THE 1ST TWO LETTERS ARE THE INITIALS OF THE 2 GUYS WHO STARTED AMG AND THE LAST LETTER "G" IS THE FIRST LETTER OF THE TOWN THAT "M" IS FROM. THAT'S IT, ACCORDING TO MERCEDES.

If you can't type the "ß" character, I suggest using "ss" instead... it looks funny otherwise! [:)]

Like "grub" or something, when it is "Gross"
