I think the Valet was trying to figure out how to release the emergency brake, maybe twisting the knob instead of pulling.

This is about the maitre-d'hotel commenting last weekend on a thread of some valet who's driving my 107, and asking how to release the emergency brake as he's pulling something, and waiting to twist the knobs of the smiling passer-by's friend who took a picture of the camel's toe.
