I have a 2005 S55 and want to get the bluetooth setup install. here are the issues/questions for you guys:

- I don't have any phone components visible in the armrest, does that mean this car is not wired for phone?

- If it is prewired, what do i need to get bluetooth setup and where can i get the parts?

- What parts do i need?

- how easy is it to install the parts if that is needed?

Thanks in advance :)

Check out EIS argo's bluetooth a little high in price, i have a Blackberry storm and they say with the argo's I will have all steering wheel options and display without taking it out of my holster. But i have read articles that previous BB's have some difficult with phonebook. And the the installation is simple as plug and play. Check it out! Just a puck that fits into your trunk and connect's via optical cable. Hope this helps

I have an '05 S55. It had the phone installed. All you do is remove the phone cradle, snap in the bluetooth module and your (bluetooth enabled) phone is sought by the module and downloaded into the system. You are done in 30 seconds. It works great.I suggest you go to the dealer, show them what you have and maybe all you need is the cradle. The modules run $500 from MBUSA, I got mine from a dealer for $175.

I will also look at the ARGOS system and see which is cheaper and with less headache

The most seamless interface is the bluetooth module from MB. It is designed to work with the car's comand system. Odd that the car's previous owner removed the cradle..As I mentioned, I got my bluetooth model from a (Mercedes) dealer. He has clients that trade in their '06 and earlier cars that used the module, for a '09 that has the module built in to the vehicle, he sells the module. He also knows the system really well.

Here is the link to MBUSA: Home It shows the silver module that fits in the cradle underneath the phone. You lift the phone out and that reveals the cradle.

But you don't have the cradle for the Bluetooth module, so you need to get that also. At any rate, this link should tell you all you need to know..
