What did you do to your W212 today? Post what you did, reply to anything which catches your interest. This thread is for work which doesn't warrant its own thread or doesn't need feedback. Start a separate thread to ask a detailed question, keeping that topic together for everyone helping and to create a reference for other users in the future.

My Volvo forum has a thread like this. It's like a chat thread where we post our current work in case anyone cares to comment. It builds community as we keep track of what we're all doing and helps inspire or remind others to do similar jobs.

Today, I did my first maintenance on my new-to-me 2016 E350 4Matic wagon. I removed a wheel and put on the spare, had a nail removed from the tire, then reinstalled the wheel. The lug bolts were so tight that one caused my American made Craftsman 17 mm socket to crack. I resorted to using the included lug wrench with a two foot metal pole on the end to remove them. I finished reinstalling the wheel in the dark in 32 degree cold.

Waited for a freaking idea on how to get moisture out of the passenger headlamp.....never, never trust anyone to do any work on your car, no matter how simple it seems, not even a freaking bulb....

Easiest way is to remove the bulb and place the end of a shop vac hose near the bulb opening. The vacuum will draw a draft through the headlight assy and dry out the inside.

Works faster outside in the sun of course. But will dry out the assy either way.

Mine was, got pissed at it. No sound from the speakers. Ran errand, connected the Thinktool Pro, channel 1, 2, 3, 4 speaker open or shorted. Head unit diagnostics say ch 1, 2, 3, 4, speaker open. So all my speakers are blown? is that it? made appointment with dealer as I am limited in knowledge, no service manual, what I do have is not working, and tools, as well as recent health issues. It's that or sell the damn thing broken, or drive with a bluetooth sound device. Why would all the speakers go, or is it the amp?

Hi all, I recently got a 2014 E200 (M274 2.0 L 4cyl) back in July/Aug 2022. Car came with AMG pack (incl 19" wheels). Due to winter rains = potholes, and driving 90km for work daily on highways in SE Melbourne, I cracked the FR rim back in Oct-2022. Just recently, lost air pressure on RR wheel, and tyre shop found another crack (inner lip/edge). So back to AK Wheels in Knox for a $180(AUD) rim repair.

Also, I suspect the prev owner missed the 75k km spark plug change, car is currently at 138k kms; so I'm going to do this soon.

Could you stick a silica gel packet in the assembly and close it up? Maybe that would gather up the moisture without introducing more from the outside. I just watched a video about removing the headlight assembly and it requires dropping the grill, bumper, and wheel arch. But after that, it's just a few bolts. You could bring the headlight assembly inside and set it by the air conditioner... in January.

I wonder if there's a fuse somewhere which blew, disconnecting everything. Let us know what the dealership says.
How do you l ike the Thinktool Pro for diagnosing problems on the W212? How accurate do you think it is?

You are lucky since it is the passenger side - don't have to remove the fender lining. why not just open the bulb assembly and point a hairdryer on the low setting - maybe a couple feet away - for a minute or so? I'd worry about it melting the plastic at a closer distance. In fact I'd put my hand in front just to make sure it is a nice warm air and not scalding.

Ended up with a shop vac with the hose on the blow side..propped in for about two hours...now there are water marks on the inside...going to order a new lens. Note, the water leaks out onto and destroys the ballast as well.

What did I do? I flew from Nashville to Greensboro to buy it and then drive it 10 hours to Detroit. Awesome experience! Great stereo, nice scenic roads through VA and WV, and got 28mpg. Next up is tinting the windows and then some detailing. It'll spend its time between Michigan and Tennessee.

Nice pictures. Sounds like a fun adventure to get the car. I flew to NC to get mine and drove it home to NH. Got 28+ mpg on my first four tanks of gas, easily better than the ~23 mpg on my trusty old Volvo. I put 555 miles on my first tank of gas and it will be a challenge to exceed that.

Recently, I checked my oil (five minutes after being at temp) and the level was near the bottom of the stick. I did a 300 mile drive then checked the oil two days later. It was back up near the top of the stick where I expected it to be. I can't imagine why it read so low.

That tint looks really slick! Nice work if you're in a state which allows it.

Installed door pull holders. Fit great.
Interesting. What made you decide to install those?

Speaking of add-ons, I wish the front seats had horizontal surfaces along the center console and below the seat belt attachment point like on my W210. Those really helped catch things that I dropped in there. I've already dropped multiple things there in the W212. Tight space, hard to fill, but would be a great improvement.
