I know it's been a while since I've been on here. We are doing fine here, no covid 'fection that we know of. An update on the A/C fix from back in November, it's not been too hot outside, yet, but cruising to town yesterday she was blowing 40 degree air (according to the thermometer I keep inserted in the center vent) and me knuckles were getting chilled to the bone (NOT complaining at all ) I'll be road trippin' to my Doc in a couple of weeks and will be taking the Hot Rod.

I've gotta take down the boat overhaul as I have a new inside hobby I'm working on, a model train table, I can even "run it" at night with some lights I've hooked up

I still have some "landscaping" to do

or that you are very cautious and have a lot of donor cars.

Nice beginning to a train setup. Get some 126 models tool
Thanks, I'd have to get someone to 3D print some 126s, they are hard enough to find in any scale but what I'd need here would only be an inch or so long, here is an example of a very detailed Freightliner truck with my finger right up against it. I have gotten a few newer model Mercedes, Audi, and VW cars

OH, juss thought about my "other Coupe" I have here, built it for any car shows I might go to, not to win any prize but just to show the car, we all know that we don't see many of these riding around (This one is a Euro)

Looks like N scale?? Had a 4'x8' N test track a few years ago. Had a couple Kato SD40s among the rolling stock such as it was, the only true State of The Art thing I've ever owned. Another hobby thing that came and went.

Yeah Doc, it's n scale, I went that route because you can fit more in the same space. I got re-interested in it (Dad had a table when we were kids) after watching a bunch of "in cab rides" of folks that had entire basements full of tracks and some even went out and took up most of their back yards, I thought "hey, I can do that" and bought a Kato Silver Streak Zephyr set

I dropped Rose off at my body and paint guy to get started on her restoration. It will be done as a tribute to Bondavi. Who gave me the car in 2011. Finally she will be done.

Did a little of my "Magic" to a 91 SEC I'm preparing for market. Proof that the more you do something the correct way the better the results.

I want to get started on a diagnostic analyzer like HD shows us but need someone who has a plasma cutter or a waterjet. I need someone who can cut openings for a few gauges and switches on a piece of maybe 16 gauge aluminum which I can put in the glove box. If you have access to something like this can you PM me please?

I took my W126 for my weekly commute last week.

For as long as I have owned her, she has been literally not firing on all cylinders, with the engine feeling sluggish and rocking quite severely at idle. So before I hit the highway home on Friday, I did something I never do.

I decided to risk adding two bottles of fuel additive claiming to remove carbon build-up in spark-ignition engines. If it works (which it probably wouldn't, because otherwise the fuel would already be thus equipped...) then yay; if it doesn't, well, it didn't cost that much.

I added the two bottles, then filled up the tank and headed home.

So, there I was, puttering along at 120km/h, when suddenly the car jerked, almost as if starved of fuel, then regained her composure. And before I knew it, I had hit 170km/h! Last time she wouldn't go faster than 140km/h.

I dared to imagine that the engine had stopped rocking at idle when I came to the next stop. And I dared to imagine it again when I reached the stop after that. By the time I reached home, I no longer needed to imagine it: the additive worked, and the engine is now firing on all cylinders! All for US$5!

I'm still not keeping the engine, though.

and which additive was it you added?
I deliberately did not want to mention the name for several reasons: 1) I do not want to come across as a salesperson for this product; 2) it may not be available everywhere; 3) I really don't trust such cure-in-a-bottle type products; I want to emphasize that I took a gamble this time because I deemed it being not a lot to loose.

But, at your own risk, the product I used because it is commonly available here in South Africa, is Wynn's Spitfire

Reluctance understood. So many of the shelf "remedies" have mixed records that it is nice to see one that apparently did good.
