I'm curious - what is this ? It looks like it has some hardware in it. Is it some type of gear bucket that you made out of pipe, or what ? 4 separate shields that slip over something ? Shackles, rigging gear ?
Your new UNIMOG looks great.

A couple more. On the inside of the shroud, after sanding and painting, I put a few coats of rattle-can bedliner
(Herculiner), in an attempt to seal up the edges of the layered sheet metal, and provide a little extra protection in the Air Blast Zone.
Time will tell.
Sorry about the double post of the Before photos.
Special skills at work.

That gives me night terrors of when I still had the mech fan. Got so tired of repairing that system. Draining and resoldering the radiator was the worst repetitive part of it.

I’ve had zero problems with it.
My Buddy had the pulley / fan frame break, sending the fan into the radiator, which was a mess.
I’m sticking with it until I find a reason not to.

I guess I didn't take pictures of the portal back on the axle. I will grab them tomorrow. I just need to change grease fittings and bolt it back together.

The word you are looking for is Cardan Joint. Cardigan is just warm and fuzzy.

Well then, carry on.
Watch the radiator supports soldered to the radiator at the top edges though. And keep inspecting the fan frame. I think the setup is fine assuming everything is in working order but the slapping belts and potentially off balance fans can tear it up quickly.

I just had a moment! I just made a mail run on a dirt bike 1.5 miles to the mailboxes and back. I locked the gate and decided to max it out on the short straight run inside the gate. 3rd gea

r I quess, ball cap, no helmet (D’oh!) . I’m at a good clip and all of a sudden a big Muley doe, about as big as they get around here, launches out of the bush, coming uphill from my left, nearly T-boning me. She lands next to me, a little ahead, maybe a foot ( less, I think) away from the handlebars….we are both hauling.
I hit the brakes and she shot across in front of me and up the hill. Yikes !
I’m still wound up ! She had a beautiful dark fall coat…
New helmet sitting on the shelf just inside the door, of course.
