one of my diesels, i think, is in need of a rack damper bolt replacement. i was curious of those of you out there that had issues like this in the past, what was your engine doing, before and after results of bolt change?
here is what mine is doing... starts fine, always. at stone cold idle shakes from side to side a little. as it warms, shakes a little more. when revved above 1500 or so. smooths out nicely. driving down the road, no issues.
sometimes while at idle, shakes so bad that whole car shakes and there is a clicking coming from around the torque converter area. if you just barely increase rpm clicking stops. i have replaced the shocks and motor mounts, it does however have the original rack bolt. i have adjusted it all the way in. the car only has 140k on it. just a baby really. what do you all think?

Sounds like maybe it's time for a new one.
But take it out and inspect, then reinstall and adjust.
Make sure the lock nut is all the way out.
