1988 560SL. While reinstalling aux water pump after repair, I found these wires and plugs dangling near mono valve. But I couldn’t find any empty sockets?

the upper pair of wires/pins look like they should go to a lamp socket. The other one has a plastic connector with two pins: 2 brown and 2 blk/yel to each pin.
Any ideas?

Is there a 126xxx part number on the harness. If yes one goes to the hood switch at the center of the firewall, and the other is not connected.

I'm in the middle of reconnecting my wiring harness. The top connections go here:
For the wire circled on the bottom of your picture. I think it would help to see the other side of the connector.

Roncallo, I couldn't find any part number on the harness.
RDelpino, I don't think it's for the sensor in your photo. Those are already connected on mine. Here's the underside of the connector:

And this is the switch mentioned:

What does it switch?
It looks like something is missing here...

And I can't see any evidence of burglar alarm on mine?

I believe it's an anti-tamper switch, which sets the alarm off when the hood is opened and the alarm is armed.

Is there any way of knowing if an alarm was installed, where it is, or what it would look like? Or how it is armed/disarmed?

My 560SL doesn't have the alarm at all. There's an open space forward of the monovalve where it would have gone. I can't tell from your pictures, but that's where it would go.

Those wires are for your windshield washer nozzle heaters.

Switch activates the alarm if someone opens the hood.

Bugler alarm was probably disconnected. There should be a horn right below the mono valve. And and alarm control module behind the glove box.
