As above are there any significant differences between say a 450SEL to a 500SEL or a 560SEL in the way of panel styling and shaping?

Reason Im asking is Im thinking I need a parts car for a couple of wheel wells on my 500SEL thats taking a lot of work getting rid of rust. Tried a search but must be using the wrong key words, all I found was engine, trans. and interior options and differences

Cheers

Did you mean 420SEL? Obviously the 450SEL is a completely different S class.

If you mean 420SEL, they are all the same panels as the other engined SEL models in the range. Apart from some 560's got slightly bigger lips on the front arches, but nothing dramatic.

There is a BIG difference between Gen I and Gen II. When I first got into MB's I confused them frequently, thinking they were similar. As Kodiakj2 has shown me, they are quite different.

The biggest difference in my books is the gen one cars had good solid wiring through out with equally as solid sensor clips etc etc. The gen two went to flimsy heat unresistant crap.
