I have heard that there is a battery connection point under the hood, but and not sure where to look. It is not very convenient to try to connect to the actual battery terminals in the trunk.

Any help appreciated and thanks.

Driver's side, up near the firewall but mounted on the fender. It is a little black plastic box with USUALLY 3 wires coming out of it. If you pop the cover off it has two posts.

I'd say it should be safe
Just wait for other members to confirm (Not too sure, but others have jumped their cars off this)

I remember something about that box being small, or something that interferes with jumper cables being able to make good contact.

I had to use it once when I left lights on over a weekend...I opened a door with a key, popped the hood, hooked up to this, then popped my trunk (the lock wouldn't let the key in). Then just jumped the battery.
