My 92 500SL is having some weird lock issues. Usually, when I'm sitting in the car and manually lock the driver's side door, the lock on the passenger's side locks as well. However, I noticed just a few days back that when I'd lock my door, the passenger side wasn't locking, but all the other interior locks were.

Then, when I got out I locked the door using the remote and the red light flashed on both the driver's and passenger's sides. However, both doors were still unlocked!?!

What's even stranger is that when I stick the key in the driver's side door lock and turn it, it will lock all the locks including the passenger's side.

I've searched the forum and haven't found anyone who's had this sort of problem. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with one of the fuses??? The air pump thing is working fine, that's not the issue.

Actually there is a little known story about our cars. Originally, Mercedes was going to name this model the: Weird Lock Problem. Unfortunately, the badge was too big to fit across the trunk lid. "SL500" is secret German Code for "Wierd Lock Problem Car". :beerchugr:

If it is an R129, you have lock gremlins living in your car at all times.
