C36 will beat a new 330CI or IS300 or Mustang GT & run neck & neck w/350Z. My experience...

C36 will beat a new 330CI or IS300 or Mustang GT & run neck & neck w/350Z. My experience w/ basic street run-ins has given me those results. I will never drag race my own car at the strip chasing 13 second slips that will never happen for fear of parts breakage. Thats what '89 Mustangs 5.0's are for!

Color me confused?

The 330ci and is300 aren't in the same class as a c36. I have a slower CLK55 and wouldn't waste my gas on one. If the 350z keeps up with you then your car needs a tune-up.

Well a CLK55AMG is faster than any C36! even a slow CLK55AMG will be faster than a quick C36.

And the C36 will get true run for its money against a nissan 350Z manual, and i suspect the C36 has to be in real top shape to keep up with that Car, and at best a 36 might pull a car's length on a Z, but thats abt as far as it goes.
The 350 has shorter gearing, same power and RPM range, and has slightly less weight and good dragCD. dont take it lightly.

Loooonnnnng time no post but my 2000 S500 is faster then pretty much any pre 2000 mercedes?
year 2000 s500: 0-60 MPH 6.5 seconds
1998-2000 c43: 0-60 MPH 5.7 seconds

really? s500's are also electronically limited to 130, c43 is electronically limited to 155, along with c36 most likely.

The 0-60 and 1/4 mi times for the C43 and C36 tend to be conservative. It's not at all unusual for a C36 to pull sub 6 second 0-60mph runs, high 5's to low low 6's seems to be the "real world" average. The posted C36 1/4 mi times are very close to the real world numbers though.

A S500 can't rightfully be compared to either AMG W202. S500 loses 0-60mph, loses 1/4 mile, also loses up top, and would get ruined on a circuit.
