I have my w209 at the dealer right now and have been quoted almost $900. That equates to me doing it myself.
Does anyone have any details of what goes into replacing it? What parts I need and the best place to get them?

Thanks.

it depends on the motor you have in your vehicle. Is it the 112 SOHC V6 or the 272 DOHC V6? The 112 motor is a fairly simple procedure, nothing that you would not find in a normal vehicle. The 272 on the other hand is very easy to break bolts off in the front cover and do more damage to the engine.

That sounds about right. The bolts on the M272 where the pump attached to the timing cover are listed as "self-tapping". You definitely don't want to screw up the timing cover - it pretty much requires the engine to be pulled to replace it.

Nothing from the OP yet?

From reading his previous posts here, the OP has a W209 CLK 320 and is in Florida, so no real problems for him with his M112 engine.

He generally only visits the forum to sell parts, but when I have tried to help him with technical problems previously, there has been no thanks or feedback. He has been asked several times to fill in his profile, but chooses not to.

I'm out of this one.:surrender:
