For 84 2.2L Diesel. Does anybody know the exact size of the proper hex/allen wrench to remove the socket head cap screws on the water pump pully?

The darn things are not visible. Those "German engineers" made the pully interfere with the lower bolt securing the belt dampener, so you have to remove 6 fasteners and the fan just to remove one bolt. Looks like I will have to re-engineer than one during replacement.

ANSWER: 5mm on '84 2.2L Diesel. Extended length works best. Do not use a 3/16" hex key.

ChrisFball, thanks for sharing that! The setup on a 2.2L diesel is quite different.
