Hello all, I have water pooling in my trunk (boot) where these rubber grommets go. I know this obviously means I have a water leak somewhere in the trunk, however, how would I go about draining the water that's already there? I got under the trunk area as well as I could and couldn't see any obvious body plugs to drain these areas. It's on both sides of the trunk as well.

Adrian,
I know for a fact that the seals on the taillights are known to leak on our cars so there could be a possibility that the water is coming from there. As far as how to drain it, sorry bud can't help....

It's possible, however these grommets that I pulled out are more towards the front of the vehicle near the fuel tank. It's possible that it would still have something to do with it though. I replaced the taillights somewhat recently because of a faulty Chinese set that a previous owner installed 🙄. When I called my local dealership about replacing the seals (I decided to just buy a used set on eBay), they told me that the seals themselves were NLA but that I would be able to buy the entire taillight assembly that would include a new seal for an exorbitant price. Anyways, the seals seemed in decent shape when I installed them. I'm not sure where other common places for the trunk to leak are on the W220 though.

Which trunk seals? The soft rubber seals or is there other seals that I might not know about? I also haven't heard of the filler seal...I'll have to check that one out. I'm still trying to find a way to drain the water out of these holes also. I would assume that there would be another grommet somewhere on the underside. I may end up just sucking it out though. Not sure yet

Is there standing water at the bottom of the fender wells on either side?

None that I could find, just in those body grommets that I pulled out.
