Hey comrades..

Just a quick question:

Was the M112 motor ever used for the S320 models from late 1997-1998?

Does anyone here have this motor in their S320? What is your opinion on performance and fuel economy?

I just had an E280 with the M112 V6 engine I personally like it. It was sooo fuel efficient as compared to the M104 engine in the same body..

I think not. According to my WIS, engine M112 is used on the W220 class, and many others. eg, S320, E320, C320, ML320, CLK320, SLK320 and Chrysler Crossfire.

There are three classes using M104/M119/M112/M113 during production

W202 C-class
W210 E-Class
and....
R129 SL

Bringing this old thread back to life again, can the M112/113 be transplanted on late W140 and be attached to the 722.6 transmission without major issues?

Interesting question, but the dual spark would the major pain as no American aftermarket ignition system would work, but it really comes to the electronics and talking to CAN bus signals, but I bet it would be easier to transplant a W220 electronics(engine and tranny)/engine/transmission(and maybe a W210 would work too E320, but my guess the timing issue risk on the drive train), yet you are closer with your 722.6 equipped car than the others. May need the hubs too as they have the correct timing for the car/transmission...

Ahh, the fabrication of engine mounts which will be the easiest :devil it is just raw labor....

I guess, I would attack it by getting the engine to work first on a stand and a harness tied to a car..

Lots of soldering :grin

Interesting :nerd Maybe someone has tried it? Read this thread as it gives you an idea (plus it is good reading) of a conversion from old to new...

Great project, my little projects at the moment small, but I would do something like this too..

Thanks Mava for the links but I am not thinking to do it myself at all. I just wish the W140 came with the better M112 than the m104 In terms of reliability and fuel efficiency.
