Argh!!! of course the check engine light comes on at 50,006 miles, 10 miles after getting the car from the dealership for some warranty covered repairs. Any suggestions? I am handy with tools, but no idea where to start with just the Dummy Light on. I would much rather have the dealership take care of this, but it's kinda hard i assume?

OK, it's easy. Go back to the dealer and complain that you just had service and now there's a CE light on. They will read the codes from the OBD computer. There's plenty of info about the typical causes on this forum (usually the Mass Air Flow sensor or 02-sensors). It's an easy DIY repair but the parts are expensive.

Eddie,

My warning light just came on my ML to. Turned out to be a bad o2 sensor.

They said check the gas cap with engine oof and restart the truck. No Go! Must bring it in for engine test.

Thanks for the suggestions. The dealer took the car back for inspection, will post results in a couple days.

If you have access to an OBD tool, check for error codes. You'll certainly find atleast one DTC

and when you do, run a search here. You'll find a lot of suggestions from those who previously had the CEL problem.

It was $250 for the O2. I could've gotten it done cheaper at Mr. MB, but I needed the dealer to work on some cosmetic issues...
