I have a small Sears Craftsman Wet/Dry vacuum that I use to keep my engine bay area sparkling clean. Plus keeping your engine bay area clean will help you notice any unattached vacuum hoses or leaks that could have developed. Matter of fact, I just did mine this morning.
I recently replaced the battery in my 300 SE so it’s clean in there, the 500 needs a new battery so that will be checked. The shop vac with attachments works well for cleaning between the two firewalls and the vent intake under the wipers/hood.
