I have a 2004 ML350. Cold air is not coming out of the rear passenger center vents while A/C is on. There is air coming out but its warm and not cold. Front is OK. I have it set on Auto in the rear control. Any clues on what could be wrong or where I shld start looking for faults? Thanks much.

Remove the cover under the driver's portion of the instrument panel and look to the right.

Then check to see that the actuator motor levers (green arrow) are moving when selecting and deselecting the rear air on the front control panel.

43sqd - thanks for the guide. I'll check it this weekend when I get home. Not sure if this matters but when I select/deselect the rear air on the front control panel, it will actually turn the rear air on/off... just no cold air.

Yes I understand that, but you have to check to see if things are working up front before you go to the console.

43sqd - You're spot on!! The lever is not moving when I select the rear air. For the time being, I've manually moved it up to allow the rear air to blow. From what I can see, the part number is A2038201642 for the actuator motor. Is this the part which needs to be replaced or shld I investigate further? Thanks.

Pls confirm as that was the part number A2038201642 printed on the actuator in my ML - the part you highlighted in yellow (110) above. Thanks.

Attached is a photo of the part.

These actuators could be interchangeable, but they all have separate and distinct part numbers.

That is the correct part number that I gave you.

The part number that you supplied is for the center vent blower actuator.
