The owner couldn't even get the model year right. The 1st year for the W126 in the US was 1981.

The rear bumper looks like it could be euro... and it's not far fetched that at some point during the past 30 years they had to replace the front bumper. It would be nice if they put what type of engine it is, or bothered to take some decent pictures when the car wasn't about to float away.

Hilarious. He's probably wondering why he isn't getting as many calls as he thought. I like the fogged up windows. The headlight looks as if it might have a Euro lens. The sheepskins also could be a clue. Usually the MB tex hangs in but the velour/cloth used on Euro version cars doesn't last as long.

Picture is hilarious. :D

However, that W126 may truly be a 1980. Seems like it's a European version, which did start in 1980. The rear bumper is shorter. Front seems like a US version. Headlights seem to be Euro spec.

I don't recall that paint being a US color too, if it's original. Based on the body cladding, it's definitely a first generation W126.

I wonder what engine is in it. The listing seems to omit that.

Ok, I'll take 380 then, passenger mirror makes me think its slightly upscale from the 280S, maybe even 280se

Good eyes. I was thinking 280se as well because of that mirror; but its been 32 years since it left the factory so considering the front bumper may have been changed, what else?

Euro cars are so different then US versions. I wouldn't be surprised if it had wind up rear windows, power fronts, no power passenger seat and deleted a/c.

Geez we might have to send John over to look at it just to settle the discussion ;-)

Yea good catch, I forgot the passenger mirror was an option overseas. I'd bet anything it has the dual zone ac as opposed to automatic. I have yet to see one without.. But hey, first time for everything.
