Read a few threads on this

The blower only works on the highest number 5,so i bought a new resistor, installed it but no joy

Will check the pollen filter once/if it ever stops raining

Is there a fuse that connects to the resistor plug cabling, could that be a cause?

Turned the actual fins on the white fan under the resister, turns freely although doesnt spin without being pushed/pulled,is that correct?

Please also note that sometimes the resistor pack blows for a reason. When I put an aircon system into my van ( 2nd hand ), when installed it, I found the same issue. I pack the resistor pack from my orignal system on and just before I switched on, looking at the fan unit itself, I found the replacement didn't freely, the nuts were rusty. So instead. I retrofitted my original fan and resistor and made it work.

Point is, make sure your fan working properly and turning freely. If you turn up the heat and not enough cool air flows through this pack, it'll blow again. So service the blower motor ( if possible ) or replace, then operate it with the new resistor pack.
Having said that, you can repair the resistor pack if it's still in a good condition ie not rusty and falling apart, by just replacing the thermal fuse inside. That blows if the pack gets to hot ( becuase the blower not working properly ).

Also note, if you leave the cabin filter out and moisture or water leaks inot the blower, the blower will start rusting and you'll end up with this issue.

I hope this helps and you get sorted. Please feedback so others might benefit.
