I have been noticing these codes pop up on scanner periodically but car drives fine so I just erase with OBD.
Other times the check engine light won’t come on but the gas gauge will light up and a message will say something about the gas cap but I know the cap is on tight.
Can the codes and this gas cap issue be related or would they be separate issues?

BTW, for P0497, this may be caused by the clogged air filter on top of the charcoal canister. See the photo below. Unscrew the top a quarter turn and pull out the air filter as shown in the red circle. It is most likely fully clogged with dirt and dust causing the low purge flow. Mine was completely caked. Air enters in through the ports shown in blue arrows. I made my own replacement filter by raiding the first aid kit and using a large gauze cut to size.

@Jagpilot Thank you for the help.
I feel like I need a picture of the whole under hood with those arrows and circles to pin point all the components to fully understand where everything is. I’m still a newbie 😂
