Brake pads warning light on in 2006 S350. Plan to change the pad myself. Wants to have recommendations on semi-metallic or ceramic and which brand of brake pads to be used? Do the sensors have to be replaced too? Will the warning light be reset afterwards? Thank you!

Yes replace sensors with pads
Use akebono ceramic if you want no brake dust

otherwise any Mercedes oem like textar or Zimmerman is fine but they make lots of dust

OEM pads do make dust, but they PERFORM better and rotors last longer. IF switching to less dust pads, do lots of research on Youtube. Tremendous differences--some work well immediately (cold), others need to get HOT before working well. Some work well at all temps (OEM)

I use Ate or Hella/Pagid pads on my post-facelift cars. I believe both are, like Textar, also OEM for Mercedes-Benz. They're dusty, but they sure do work.

Rear Akebono Euro ceramic pads lasted 80,000 miles in W220 before I replaced them, and were not fully worn even then. Front pads have still 50% left. And they do not eat the discs either. No squeal in W220 but in my SLK32 the rear pads usually squeal when backing out of garage. That is slightly annoying.
