Please don't post any questions here, if you find it un locked it means I am working on the Thread.

It is important to state that this not only applies to W220 but many other Mercedes and other Marques

The Purpose for this thread is to compile all of our collective knowledge and "How To's" into one mini "W220 Android Encyclopaedia".
This is a "work in progress" so it may take a while before all sections are populated.

OK, well it's working so far, I'll get back to it soon :)

Meanwhile if anyone has more links on W220 applicable Android stuff (that is not in @cowboyt 's or future posts) please add them here :- Help Required to compile W220 Android Install Thread

The following Post Headings will each contain links to the Threads containing the subject info:-

Thanks to @leeadrian75 for the following relating to the Speakers in later Facelift W220, with MOST Fibre Optics as opposed to D2B ....

I was able to find a wiring diagram from Mitchell1 (ProDemand) on the speaker setup on the W220's with the MOST system. So it seems as though the two smaller speakers are intended to supplement the larger subwoofer. When I get my radio (now for the second time ) and my new amplifier I will update on if it sounds correct. The only other way that I could see to wire these speakers in would be to bridge the two smaller speakers across the rear channel and keep the subwoofer on it's separate channel from the back of the head unit. Any thoughts?

Here are 3 of my own installs :-

The Discovery 2 is the latest that was finished beginning of 2022
The SLK's only had 2 Door Speakers so in the Blue V8 R170 I upgraded those and added component Speakers in the rear bulkhead, (factory tweets in the doors were fine) plus added the Active Sub because space is at a premium in these Cars.

All have working Steering Buttons and everything you would expect including USB Data / Charge Sockets in their Cubby Boxes, Reversing Cameras, TPMS, my W220 also has DVB - TV and Rear Headrest DVD Players / Screens with remote control and IR Headphones, Games Controllers etc, they can be used individually or also play whatever the Head Unit is playing.

The W220 was my first install, done a fair few years ago now, (6 at least) and all still working fine, although I may upgrade the H/U as being an older one, that Car would benefit from upgrading to latest spec

I also did a decent install in my Silver R170 (not pictured), but used a digital Pioneer Single DIN using all the same Speaker stuff as the Blue SLK V8, however, no reverse Cam or Navi etc, I didn't go Android because I'm selling that car once it is finished with a V8 install, and I already had a barely used new Pioneer in a cupboard ;)

The W220 is still on it's factory Speakers, they are fine unless you want it stuuuuuuuupid loud.

The Discovery 2 is still on it's factory Speakers, I added the same Active Sub, because it didn't have one and finding somewhere to fit that one was challenging to say the least, but that system sounds amazing too. That one needed a Single DIN unit, so that was my first flip screen Install ....
