Hey guys,

would anybody happen to know the part number and any leads as to where I can find the Parktronic Ecu control module for my 2002 e430. The dealer wants an exorbitant amount of money for this largely unnecessary gizmo, and I want to be able to find perhaps a second hand one as i have found a few on ebay, but cannot tell for sure if they will work with my facelift w210.

Thanks in advance!
I don’t have an answer for you but I do have a question. What code if any and what symptoms told you that ecu is what you needed? I would be so greatful tip hear your thoughts on any of this. My car just had an check enmisson control sign come up, after car had been losing lack of power at take off & every so often not going into gear or loss of reverse these were just for a a few minutes but before I got it in shop it came out of ( Cruise Control) while driving home on highway then check engine light came on. I then read codes with Auto Zobes Code Reader giving me 4 codes
1 P01160
02 Heater circuit no activity detected bank 2 Sensor 2
2. P0161
02S 2Heater Circuit Malfunction
3P2768
Input Turbine Speed Sensor B circuit intermit
4 P2767 Same thing.
I understand this is not the MB diagnos
tool. I had my car towed to Euro Motors in Indianapolis,In.
they came back with telling me I needed a new transmission conductor plate? But unfortunately Mercedes Nenz had to repair that @around 2000$ to $ 2300 because it had to be programmed by them. After it was towed to ito MB I got a call 3 days later explaining previous place had wiped codes & engine light was off they had been driving it daily trying to see if any codes would come back and they had not. They then told me nothing they could do & it seemed to be running fine . A day later I was told i did not need a conductor plate but I had an oil leak at the crank case & it needed replaced & replace right valve gasket,my brake fluid was contaminated needs flush cleaned replaced. I needed a right rear ball joint ,new wipers, Costs $ 3000. plus I have 2 very different things totally different and have no idea what to do. Any help would be gladly appreciated. My MB is 2005 E 500 Series Sedan With the 211 Chasis
Thank you in advance.

If your car is not a 4matic (all wheel drive) but a rear wheel drive, it has a 7-speed transmission. If that is the case, the transmission controller is on the conductor plate and needs to be programmed by a dealer. If speed sensors are the problem (what is called Turbine speed sensor" above), there is a kit available to replace them without having to replace the whole conductor plate and program.

$ 3,000 is a lot for the above dealer quoted items to be replaced. You can get an indy to do the inspection and repair work at a more reasonable price. If the transmission issues are not coming back, you just have to drive the car till you have the problem and corresponding fault codes and Check Engine Light (CEL) again. And get yourself a $50 scanner, so you do not need to go to the auto parts shop to read the codes.

You should really open a new post, as this is not anything to do with Parktronic issue. Also W211 forum posting will get you more support those W211 members.

I will do post in 211 I’m sorry. I just never seem to get anyone to help me, I know I’m uneducated about car I’ve been reading since iI bought it. I’m trying to learn. It is a 4 matic. Thank you you have been worth a million. I do appreciate it. It is 2005 e 500 with 211 If you think of anything else. Or know anyone in Indianapolis,In Repair Shops listed They were closed out or I went to Mikar they overcharged me had them fix a sensor & air filters gave me a quote of $400 when I went to pay bill it was $738.00 With a new diagnosis OF ECU OR ANOTHER SENSOR TEMP sensor and to come back it would be temp sensor or ECU which would be $3,345. They did refund the difference from 738 & 400. and of course I did not return. So i’d like to get it to someone I could trust to simply get a clear answer & repair it. Thank you so much

If 4-matic, I believe it is the 5-speed automatic transmission (722.6). In this case the conductor plate does not need any programming because the Transmission Control Unit is outside the transmission. The parts (conductor plate + pan seal + filter + adapter plug) should cost about $200, plus Transmission Fluid ($100) plus labor. After the conductor plate is replaced, the shop needs to clear the codes in the Transmission Controller.

Note that having the above transmission speed sensor codes does not automatically mean that the conductor plate is bad. In most cases the Transmission Fluid ends up in the connectors and the Transmission module which causes electrical issues. Once the connectors are cleaned and adapter replaced (O-ring issues), and code reset, the problem is solved in these cases. The first shop you took the car which erased the codes, may have a printout of the codes prior to clearing. That will give a better idea of what is going on.

Regarding the other problems, you really need to locate a decent shop who can identify and fix the problems rather than ripping you off.

I can’t thank you enough. I have been reading all day,due to the fact the World Wide Mercedes Indianapolis,In. Has added yet another item even though they only had prior shop’s codes total is now $5000 plus I asked isn’t it odd that there is no reading or to many things seem to have a short when tested? Isn’t that the ECU? Or electronics could be problem. I was then dodged. Again thank you I cNt seem to find a trustworthy shop
