:help:I have never posted...hope I did it correctly and can find it later!!!
I have read a lot of these and think it is a great help for MBZ owners.
I cant find anything on this so far. I own a 05 e55, I am having headlight problems (factory) pass side flickers then comes on and seems to be dimmer then the driver side. This only happens the 1st turn on and setting err code. If I turn off and back on (ie drive an hour, stop an hour) dont have the prob. I am sure I have HID but I have heard, running my VIN will tell me. It that true. Now the other part! What is my PROBLEM!!!??? HELP

OK I have read more on this topic and poss dazed & confused. I think I fig this out. Please someone guide me!!!! My 05 e55 has a blueish white light on LOW beam (from the large outer lense with turn signal) The LOW beam starts out with a blink and the intesity increses to full brightness. When I turn on my BRIGHTS it is the yellowish color and COMING FROM THE (SMALL LENS next to grill). What do I have HAL, ZEN. I now understand I dont have Bi-ZEN. Is that right? What is the part number for the blub and what make do I buy. Seen stories about brand and getting bright light.
Still cant figure out (when cold) the passenger light FLICKERS a while sending error code, then turns on AGAIN seem to be with cold temps. AGAIN after on, you can turn off and on with no flicker or code. Do blubs weaken or is there a starter that turns these lights on. If I know what blub to buy I would just replace and see if problem stops. Hate throwning parts at it tho! ANYONE GUIDE ME!!!

Sounds like the Ballast for the Xenon Headlight is going as the only other part is the ignitor
The Bumper must be removed to remove the headlight assy

Mercedes sells a repair kit for the ballast...I have done a few

Thanks for your input. That doesnt sound cheep!!! I take it that I have XEN lights then. I still havent figured that out. I have read so much I am lost on this issue. I thought I read that you have Xen lights if you have headlight washers..then I thought I read that wasnt true!!!! Anyway I guess I need to just cut up my hands and get to the blub, to fig this out. Thanks for your help.

OK everyone! This morning BOTH lights are flickering. The Driv did it a few times and came on while the Pass was still doing it and set an error code. Is there 2 Ballast on these lights (IF I HAVE XENON) STILL TRYING TO CONFIRM! Anyway if anyone can help please feel free to comment!!!
Take care everyone. Thanks

Well I seem to be answering my own questions. I tore into my light prob, finding that I have a silver box mounted to a screw above the light housing. The cup that covers the light has been drilled out and cables ran in to the light from the HID box. MUST BE AFTERMARKET. To crude of install to be MB. I found one of the wire with a male spade plug that wasnt snug as it pluged into the female spade plug. I took a jewlers screw driver bending the female connector to make it snug. SEEMS TO HAVE TAKEN CARE OF PROBLEM for now!!!! Now all I need to do is fig out about blub replacement...guess I will be doing research on this now!!!

Thanks Mark for your input again.
Everyone take care.
