Hi, all driving to work today in my 2002 4matic was not a pleasent experience.
Was stuck in traffic and car started choking once below 10 miles per hour, (smell of fuel), once press the gas it was driving fine. Then when I came to the first traffic light the car stauled. Was able to get started again and drove to work wit no problems. What can possibly cause this, a bad fuel pump, clogged converter any ideas or suggestions is highly appreciated.

Wrong forum, please join us on the regular W210 forum found in the sedans section. But in the mean time, why don't you use an OBD2 scanner and see if you have any diagnostic trouble codes? Even though you don't have a check engine light, or your display says no malfunction, you might still have some hidden (aka pending) codes to help with the diagnosis.

Any of those is possible, although clogged cat would be my first guess.

Please help to read those.
