I have a W208 CLK - I'd like to permanently disable the tele-aid system.

Is there any way to do this without a mercedes service computer?

My system is malfunctioning and calling out randomly. I would like to disable, unplug, or destroy the unit. :) Pulling the fuse causes the ABS light to come on which is obviously no good.

If I have to have a mercedes tech do it - does anyone know the process?

The module beeps because it is searching for analog cellular frequencies that are no longer used for cellular communication (they have been reassigned to handle wi-fi). This thread in the W220 forum, dealing with a D2B fiber optic bus like yours, may help - https://www.benzworld.org/threads/how-to-remove-tele-aid-module-completely-from-w220-d2b-optic-ring.1882042/#post-7467370. A search of the forum will turn up much more, but that post is likely sufficient. You will need Mercedes diagnostic equipment, or someone trained to use it, for the job.

If a 1999-up it will be a D2B vehicle, and you should be able to bypass it at the fiber connections if your vehicle has COMAND. If your vehicle does not have COMAND, it is not part of the D2B ring.
