Hey, was wondering if anyone could help with this??

I have a 1994 W124 E Class Estate 250 TD but it's knackered so it's heading off to Germany for Breaking :crybaby2:. It's got brand new all season M&S tyres that cost a fair few pounds on it size 195-65-15

I've now bought a 1999 W202 C Class Estate 250 TD Sport Estate. It comes with 16" Alloys and tyres that need replacing size 205-55-16....

I found from Mercedes Benz that the C CLass W202 of this era came from the factory with 195-65-15 on it, and that 205-55-16 is an optional change. I can't find any info whether the Sport edition is any different.

Basically, I'm wondering can I take the wheels, tyres off my W124 and put it on my W202 so as not to waste my brand new tyres? I've a spare set of rims for my W124 so could pick up some used tyres for it to do it's final journey to Germany. My alloys can then sit and wait till the next tyre change and go back on the C Class then.

I'm importing the C Class and it doesn't arrive to Scotland until next weekend but was hoping to figure this out before then so I can have the tyre issue sussed and get my new car on the road here asap....

If anyone can clue me in.... I don't want to waste time & money getting 4 used tyres for the W124 if my plan is not going to work....

Ta Very Mucho.... ;)

They will fit no problem. I took the rims off my W126 and put them on my W202 when I sold the W126. Still like them. I am running 245-50-16 on my W202

Forgot to mention you may need to keep the wheel bolts from your 124 as the ones on the 202 are longer than most. If you install the long bolts in in the wrong rims you will damage the parking brake.

Ah, this is where it gets tricky as I need to put my spare rims with some old tyres on my W124 to get it to Germany for Breaking... So if I get a second set of W124 wheel bolts, I should be sorted for both cars?!
