Are you sure the DRL is in the switch?
I dont believe swapping the switch will solve the problem.
In our 99 c230K, under the DS dash, next to steering column.
The silver tin box is what provided DRL.

My bad.
Yes, if you have DRLs already, swapping the headlight switch should be fine.

So it wouldn鈥檛 work on a car without DRLs?
I havent seen the ebay ads you are referring to and why one is almost 3Xs the price of the other.
So I dont know what you are referring to in relation to these switches you are watching on ebay.
I presume the ebay listings have a part# associate with them?

Ive swapped plenty of switches for w202s and they are all independant of the DRL system installed (silver tin box)
(at least up here). For the w202, the silver box was an "add-on" to comply with required DRL in other countries.
I dont believe the US had DRL requirements.

For the w210s, the headlight switch itself had the DRL features built-in to them so if owners wanted to delete the DRL function (as I did on our w210), you needed to swap a US version headlight switch (same switch just no DRL wiring inside)

I messaged one of the sellers on eBay , the seller鈥檚 name was skyur, the other day asking if the switch they were selling would work and they said that the switch for my vehicle would be $113 from Mercedes since it was the incorrect switch.

I haven鈥檛 seen a non-drl switch on eBay, all I鈥檝e seen was the DRL switch.

Is there an extra connection on the DRL switch compared to the Non-DRL switch?

Not that I am aware of.
What's your vin#.
I can check the part # against others (including mine) to see if there is anything different.

No worries.

Your part #20

On our w202, same part #

Perhaps the seller with the higher priced part either believes this part is special or he's just a snake salesman.

He ran my vin# thru the "Mercedes dealer parts database" which explains why its higher than the one he has posted because it an aftermarket part.

And with that knowledge in mind I'll know what to look for. When I looked at the part he was selling about a week ago it was ~$30 and now its $40.

I've used both oem and non-oem for this part# up here, depending on what was provided for me to install. Both work fine. A quick look on fleabay, there are less expensive ones.
