I have a 1995 mercedes c class, the car will not start when the fuel tank is half full. the saddle fuel tank is full on one side, and the fuel gauge indicates half full. You add few liters and then it is ok. fuel pump is ok, fuel guage is ok. Changed the fuel tank with a good condition used one, but it turned out to have the same porblem. I doubt this second fuel tank has exactly the same problem?? anything need to be done during installation of the tank. how does the fuel get transfered from one side of the tank to the other side???? I appreciate any help on this issue.

I have heard that there is a tube that runs from the left side to the right that transfers fuel between sides. This tube can deteriorate or get clogged. I would assume that with the tank being used that you replaced, it is possible you got another one just like it. I would check out the tubes in your original tank and see if there is anything you can do to test them.
