Has anyone heard if there will be an AMG version available?

Supposedly an ML63 with at least 467 hp. I would bet it's a 2007 intro.

No, normally aspirated V8.

Well.....then you probably meant ML55, cuz ML63 denotes a 6.3 liter V-12.

The ML55 AMG uses the M113 E55 V8 whereas the new ML63 AMG is based on the M156 E63, which is the AMG version of the new M273 four valve V8.

As Wolfgang says, it is a V8-a new version you are not familiar with. The SL65 is a twin turbo 6.0 liter (604 hp, 738 lb-ft), but the 63 designation for the ML will be a new V8. More torque in the V8 (normally aspirated) which is better-suited for truck use.

Cool. I stand corrected. Too bad we probably have to wait a year after the initial W164 release to see an AMG version. Patience is something I lack.

that ML63 chop looks amazing but I can bet the whole AMG style will change in 2 years
