I am running out of Ideas. But If you plugged in the old radio and still the lights were out I would.

Scan the system with a code reader. Never heard of a can bus issue causing the lights to go out after a radio change but who knows.

Pull the fuse and set meter to OHMs check for fuse conductivity do not just check visually.

Check for power at the fuse terminal.

Check relay, swap the instument lighting relay into a known working circuit that takes the same relay. Verify the lighting relay is good

Check for power at an instument bulb socket. If you have power at the fuse but not the socket, dimmer switch or another switch maybe the cause.

If it is brown it's a ground, check that all ground wires that are near what you were working on are secure.

Tim though for a 2001 the wiring diagram should be very close to yours. Not sure what the 2 modules labeled solid state are but they seem to be part of the cluster, which you have swapped.
